Heroes wrapped up their abridged second season Monday leaving me murmuring "that's it?" Yes they tied off some loose ends but they did it so abruptly I doubted the character's motivations. All season long there was a build up over the disease being released. Peter obediently followed Adam around doing his bidding. Then suddenly when confronted by his brother, Peter changed sides. It was a little too easy after all Peter did to help Adam. Peter's motivation in doing all this was his girlfriend who was trapped in a future where the disease killed 93% of the population. Yet Peter didn't even mention her after he destroyed the disease much less go back and get her. Maya suddenly turned on Skylar after following him around like a puppy dog. Again, too sudden a transformation. Oh and they killed off Nicki and Nathan out of nowhere. I know they're trying to keep us off guard, but it feels more like they're making it up as they go along. It's like the writers wanted to knock off early and get a beer when writing this script. I hope the writers strike allows them to build up some inspiration so Heroes comes back strong for a 3rd season. Otherwise even Claire may not be able to regenerate this show.
